About Kremsegg University (for media use)
Kremsegg University is a degree-granting university being established at Kremsegg Castle in Austria, rooted in Buddhist contemplative wisdom and open to the world’s contemplative traditions, and engaged in rigorous dialogue with the sciences of mind, complexity, and ethical leadership. Inspired by the ancient monastic university of Nalanda, it is organized around two academic tracks — Applied Contemplative Practices, and Transformative Leadership — offered at undergraduate and graduate level. Founded in the lineage and vision of the Tibetan Buddhist teacher Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche and led by Founding Rector Professor John Dunne, the university maintains complete academic freedom under professional governance. It is part of the broader Bodhi Project. Accreditation is in progress; the university is committed to full accreditation before conferring any degree.
